Post image for Unautomate Your Finances: A New E-book To Help You Find Your Financial Focus

Over the past year I’ve watched as Baker over at ManVsDebt.com has had a meteoric launch to become one of the premier voices in the blogosphere in several different niches. He is a recognized personal finance writer, landing a staff writer position at one of the premier personal finance sites, GetRichSlowly.org. He writes about his family’s travels as they globe trot – from New Zealand to Australia to Thailand – in the past year. His writing has been inspired, and lots of people (myself included) have come to enjoy his writing immensely.

As I’ve stated elsewhere on this site, one of my goals for Bible Money Matters has been to make it one of the go-to places on the internet for personal finance information from a Christian viewpoint. I want to provide great commentary on money topics, and make this site useful, entertaining and engaging.

One of the ways I’ve been trying to improve the site in the past year is by hosting some of the best Christian personal finance writers from all over web on this site. In the past year we’ve hired several talented staff writers to write for our site every week.

Post image for Vote For Bible Money Matters In The Plutus Awards

Within the past couple of days I was notified that Bible Money Matters was nominated and was one of the finalists in the “Best Religious Finance Blog” category of the Plutus Awards.  I’m humbled and gratified that someone enjoyed the site enough to nominate us. Before we get too far though, we should clarify – what on earth are the Plutus Awards?

The Plutus Awards are like the Oscars of the personal finance blog world.  They honor the best and the brightest of the year in a variety of categories.   They have categories for everything from “Blog of the Year” to the “Lifetime Achievement Awards”.

Post image for Announcement: Blueprint For How To Make Money With A Blog E-book Is Now Available!

Last month I wrote a series of posts on this blog about how I had turned my blog into a nice secondary source of income for my family. I discussed all the things that I have done over the past 2 years in order to take a small unheard of blog, and turn it into an income producing asset. The series of posts was extremely popular, and I decided to write some more on the topic and create an expanded resource for new and intermediate bloggers alike.

Over the 2 years that I’ve been blogging I’ve met a lot of interesting people, many of whom I would consider close friends. One of the most interesting people that I have met in that time is one of the talented staff writers on this blog, Jason Mitchener. Jason is a talented writer, contributing tens of devotionals to this site over the past year, many of which were extremely moving, and poignant.

Last year the nice folks at Marshalls and T.J. I went on my shopping trip the day before Christmas, and I got a ton of stuff for $25.  I was impressed with just how much stuff you could get at their stores for such a minimal amount.

Post image for The Black Friday Sale At ING Direct

I’ve written about ING Direct here on Bible Money Matters before because I’m big on their no fee accounts that give you the flexibility to set up savings goals, earn some decent interest and because they know how to treat their customers right.

ING has decided that this year they’re going to get in on all the Black Friday hoopla – and come up with some discounts for their customers.  Here are some of the things you can expect, along with where to find the deals tomorrow.
