It can be easy to get caught up in all the commercialism that comes along with Christmas these days, and allow the focus of the day become more about us – instead of about Him (Jesus Christ). For me, one thing that always gets me back into the celebratory mood is a reading of the Christmas story. Jesus life is the greatest story ever told, and when you think about how it all started with his birth in extremely humble surroundings, it’s even more amazing.
So without further ado… here it is. The original Christmas story.

The simple blessings of Christmas (short movie) This video came across my computer this morning, and it reminds us of what is important during this time. It's not the flutter or the flurries (snow or otherwise), it is the joy and love of the season which is represented in our hearts. My youngest has helped me grasp......
Most people have a Christmas family tradition. Perhaps you exchange gifts at a certain time of day, go ice skating (at the mall if you live in the south like me), eat a favorite dish, or read the story of Jesus’s birth. I think our family has adopted most of these traditions.
But one of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is sit back, relax and watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. In a comedic way, this movie takes all the things that typically occur around Christmas time and takes them to an extreme. Whether it’s hanging Christmas lights, spending time with family or shopping, Clark Griswold finds himself in the middle of them all.

Organize Your Personal Finances in No Time by Debbie Stanley If nothing else, the state of the economy has shown that millions of people don’t have a good grasp of how to manage their personal finances. Christmas shopping season is in full swing, and with it, the long lines, crowded aisles and frazzled shoppers. In an attempt to avoid the stores altogether this year I decided to do most of my shopping online. There are a variety of reasons why I like shopping online. First, you can shop in your underwear, and honestly, who wants to get dressed or have to take a shower to go out and spend money when you can do it from the comfort of your cushy office chair? Second, shopping online allows you to shop around, find online only sales, and get extra cash back. I love getting a deal!

I’ve been thinking about a type of spending lately that I think causes a lot of problems similar to impulse buying. However, this spending is deliberate. It’s emotion driven and it can get you into credit card trouble quick, if not careful.

A Great Way To Get Free Gadgets, Cash And Other Free Stuff
One thing that has never made sense to me is playing the lottery. The odds against you are astronomical, and it’s nearly impossible to win. So why even bother?
Instead of playing the lottery I’ve started doing something with slightly better odds. In my free time I like to enter online contests – usually ones found on smaller sites and blogs. Instead of having odds of 300 million to 1, your odds are often closer to anywhere from 200:1, down to 50:1.
In the past year or so I’ve won the following things through blog contests: Read more... (793 words, 12 images, estimated 3:10 mins reading time)
