Buying a new car will often be the 1st or 2nd most expensive purchase that you’ll make – depending on whether you own a home. Unfortunately far too many people just don’t do their research, and don’t try very hard to find the best deal because they just feel intimidated when going to a car dealership or talking with a car dealer. In my opinion that’s a big mistake.
If you do your research, and make sure to have your financing (or cash) lined up and ready to make the purchase, you’ll have more power when you go out to make a deal. Here are some sites to do that research:

I think cars are one of the biggest impediments to getting out of debt and staying out of debt. They also make it difficult to maintain a fully funded emergency fund (amount differs based on your situation). “I’m going to change when I get to the LAX airport”.
A friend of mine was recently flying from Australia to Los Angeles. He planned to wear a pair of jeans on the first flight and then change for his connecting flight within the States.
“I always get treated better when I’m dressed up. You’re much more likely to get upgraded”.
(Side note: Why my friend would rather get upgraded for the two hour Stateside flight and not the 14 hour transpacific flight is still a mystery to me).
