Hello Ep’ers,

It has been more than a week since I last posted an article. I have been away to accompany my two sons on their first National Tennis Competition. It was quite an experience for me as a parent. There were a lot of things I learned or seemingly came to realize I learnt. That in sports, as do with life, there at least 3 glaring mistakes that we too often make that hinders us to be successful on the court as well as off it. I am going to share with you those mistakes that are often made by people, me included. What is most alarming to me is that, there are many many people in the world that accepts these truths as necessary things to a man, and on the contrary, take it as part of success building. The following mistakes are the most commonly committed:

1. Believing that mistakes are always to be avoided.

I have been raise in a family that preaches this one. I grew up believing that mistakes in life should be avoided. As a child, I was always looking for ways to be different, to explore things, to gain new insights to plays and games. But at the back of my mind, there was this fear of making mistakes, that in the process, it inhibited me from really gaining on things. Sure there was success along that way, but looking at where I am now, I could have done much more and be more successful than I am today.

Earning Money on the web is no different. Making mistakes is not a sign of failure or weakness. Mistakes are learning experiences. If you have not made any mistakes in your life, I would tell you to your face, you are not trying hard as you should. It means that not all avenues have been pursued and that there are still a lot of grounds to cover. A person cannot fully learn life without making one. He cannot truly learn how to earn money online without making a mistake. The fear of making mistakes has prevented many people from rising to the top.

When mistake is made, there are two things that we can do. Either we resolve to not make the same mistake again, or learn from it. The former is an impossible proposition. The latter an empowering principle. You can decide to run away from your mistakes, and surmise that it is too costly and be fearful of them, but that fear will keep you from fulfilling your God-given potential. A lot of people think about their mistakes and live a life of regret and self torture. Fear of making mistakes and failure causes people to make the worst mistake of all – that of doing nothing. Learn from your mistakes and become a better person, a better husband, a better employee, a better coach, a better student, a better teacher, a better writer, a better son, a better marketer, etc, this is what we call progress.

2. Believing that success comes naturally to those who are the most brilliant and talented

All throughout history is littered the mark of successful people who where not the most brilliant or the most talented or the most noble. Men of ordinary stature have changed the world. What is common with them was the sincerest of desire and passion to pursue their goal to whatever end. The battle is not to the strong and swift but to the persistent and heart’s desire to possess. No matter what field of endeavor we are pursuing, those of us who throw our hearts into our work will know success.

The degree of success we can achieve largely depends on the amount of sincere desire we possess. Do you have the sincere desire to earn money online? Do you have a dream? Successful people always have a dream that becomes too exciting, too important as to prod action. Let your dreams become a burning desire as to stir you to act. The difference between a dream and a goal is that a goal is a dream that has a timetable and a course of action. Toil in the service of that dream until you see it with your own eyes and touch it with your hands. Success will not fall into your lap. It must be snatch by the sincerest desire of your heart. Success is never instantaneous. It is never an accident. Success is always a consistent and a continuous process a person goes through in life. It is not even the position you have reached in life that defines it, but rather the intensity of the obstacle you have overcome to reach your goal. Be persistent, it is your ultimate weapon for success.

Success DOES NOT come naturally to those who are the most brilliant and talented but to the most persistent.

3. Refusing to change when there is a need to change.

One of my favorite testimonies about change is a story about a conversation of farmer and his daughter. The daughter was in her last semester in college, and she was doing practicum. Within the four years that she studied about farming and agriculture, she would always share the new knowledge she gained at school to her father. Some of those her father accepted as good, but most were rejected as merely theories and cannot be true in the real farm work, and would reply sternly, “I have been farming for the better part of my life, and you teaching me how to farm…!” This man’s attitude is the attitude of too many people as well.

It is just easy to sit and let the world pass us by. Perhaps if people could just take out the negative, closed mindedness every once in a while, the world could be a better place for us all to live in. What is truly sad about those who won’t change is that there is really no progress without change. Change is the only constant in the world, not to change is to end that worldly constant, which is impossible to do.

One of the major reason people hate to change is that, they are afraid to fail. They have been accustomed to think that to fail and make mistake is weakness. There is fear of the unknown.  Another reason is that, it requires energy and a lot of effort to change. To exchange ideas, to plan, to rearrange priorities, and set new visions and goals takes a lot of effort and time. Few dare spend their energy on change, to sit back and relax and stay on the rut is easy, even if it is not the best and right. Every living things grow up to maturity, levels off, and dies unless there is new life. Unless new life sprouts, new blood runs through it, new activity, and new ideas. In simple words, we all die unless we continue to grow, and this requires change.

Change is the only constant in the world. Even death is change!

These are the 3 most glaring mistakes everybody makes regarding success. Let these not be our lot.
